The Hope Works Scholarship Fund

Bill and Sharon Maloney, Donors at GMCT since 1999
When a friend of the family experienced the loss of his father, Bill and Sharon Maloney saw first hand how the loss of a parent could put a high school student’s entire future at risk. “Watching the blank look on his face just brought the impact home to us,” noted Bill and Sharon. Shortly thereafter we heard about GMCT and decided to establish The Hope Works Scholarship Fund to address that need.” Though relatively new (est. 1999), ten students from Monongalia County have graduated under the program, many going on to graduate studies in their chosen fields. Five more students are currently enrolled, each receiving a four year stipend.
GMCT currently offers ten different scholarships in Monongalia and Preston County, and statewide. Generous donors like the Maloneys continue to make a difference one scholar at a time. Click here for more information on GMCT scholarships and an application.
