DeLynn Arts for Children Fund

Jean and Laurence DeLynn, GMCT Donors since 2001
In 1997, BOPARC (the City of Morgantown's Board of Parks and Recreation) launched its first "Arts in the Park" summer children's program. An enormous success, 25 children played, swam and produced four beautiful mosaics, now displayed at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Park in downtown Morgantown. Laurence and Jean DeLynn, lifelong Morgantown residents, former business owners and friends of local art teacher Debbie Palmer, were inspired by the results. Having observed other successful youth programs that were making a difference in the lives of Florida residents, they became determined to replicate that success here, through Debbie's efforts. In 2006, Jean and Larry established the DeLynn Arts for Children Fund at GMCT. Their keen observation and generosity will ensure that "Arts in the Park" and similar programs will have the funds to continue inspiring the children of Morgantown forever.
